Halloween Activities That Everyone Shouldn’t Miss Out On
Share
INTRODUCTION
Halloween is one of my favorite holidays. There are so many fun activities to do, like dressing up in costumes and eating candy. But if you’re looking for something more exciting than just handing out candy to trick-or-treaters, here are some ideas!
GET DRESSED UP AND GO TRICK OR TREATING.
Trick or treating is a fun activity for the whole family. You can get dressed up, go out and collect candy, then eat it all later!
If you’re looking for some exercise and fresh air, trick or treating is definitely a great option.
It’s also a great way to meet new people. Maybe your neighbor has an extra bowl of candy!
ATTEND A COSTUME PARTY.
The best part of Halloween is dressing up, and there are plenty of ways to celebrate that fact. Have an adult costume party and ask everyone to wear something spooky or silly. This works well in groups, too: you could have a couple’s costume contest or even a pet contest! It’s also fun to put together a theme for the occasion and encourage guests to dress accordingly—for example, if it’s an 80s-themed party with all your friends from high school who are still close friends today because you’re all still in touch and go on group vacations every year, then it would make sense for all those people to dress like they went out as Punky Brewster back then (but only if they did).
JOIN IN COSTUME CONTESTS
A costume contest is a great way to get your Halloween party guests involved in the festivities and show off their creative skills.
Here are some ideas for ways you can run your contest:
- Best Costume: This can be a group or individual award, depending on how many people attend your event. The best costume will be decided by whoever judges it (you!) or the crowd’s reaction if there is no judge present.
- Funniest Costume: This may require more than one judge so that you don’t have to decide whether or not a particular outfit was actually funny enough to win this award!
- Most Original Costume: In order to rule on this category, you will have to decide what constitutes as originality—is it something that hasn’t been done before? Or does it have elements from other costumes combined in an interesting way?
If you’re looking for a fun way to celebrate Halloween, consider attending a costume contest. These events can be held at a variety of locations, including bars and restaurants. Some events are even held online. Most contests offer prizes—and the chance to be crowned king or queen of Halloween! Feel free to dress up as your favorite character from movies or TV shows. Or go all out and make an elaborate costume out of everyday objects like toilet paper rolls and cardboard boxes! You’ll probably have fun regardless of what type of costume you choose because everyone will be dressed up in some way so there’s no pressure on anyone’s creativity level here.
You can also go the traditional route and dress up as a witch or vampire. These are always popular because they’re easy to make and fun to wear. Once you have your costume ready, go ahead and enter your name into the contest. You might win first place!
Nowadays, there are also costume contests made for pets. Maybe you are not a huge costume person but you like dressing up your fur-babies, here’s your time to shine. Aside from showing off your adorable pets in cute costumes, you can also have fun, make friends with fellow pet-lovers, and learn a thing or two about pets.
GO TO HAUNTED HOUSE OR CORN MAZE.
Corn mazes and haunted houses are fun, and they’re a great way to get exercise. Corn mazes are like giant puzzles where you have to find your way through a maze without getting lost, while haunted houses are like big scary stories told in person by actors who will jump out at you at every turn. Both are fun for kids and adults alike!
CARVE A PUMPKIN.
You’ll need a pumpkin or two to get started. Make sure you clean them before carving them up, since they’re full of seeds that may be hard to remove later.
Once you’ve cleaned your pumpkins, use a knife to cut out the top of the pumpkin and scoop out any seeds with a spoon (or just toss them in a bowl for roasting later). Now it’s time for the fun part: carving! Use a saw to cut off the stem of your pumpkin; then take another knife and carve away at its face until it looks like something spooky or adorable—your choice!
GO ON A HAYRIDE.
You can find hayrides at many farms and pumpkin patches around the country. These are a great way to spend time with friends and family, get out of the house, and make new friends. Even if you don’t want to go on one, they’re fun to watch!
SCARY MOVIE NIGHT!
Halloween is the perfect time to kick back, relax and watch a scary movie. A good scary movie can be the best way to spend your Halloween night. You can choose from classics like The Shining or newer films like Hush. Make sure you have plenty of candy on hand so that you don’t miss out on any treats while watching!
If you’re going to watch a scary movie at home, make sure that everyone has enough blankets to hide under and some friends to hold them tight when things get too intense for them.
HOST A MURDER MYSTERY PARTY.
Throw a murder mystery party, and invite all your friends. Make sure to have plenty of seating for everyone, as well as enough games so that everyone can play at the same time. Make sure you have enough food and drinks for everyone to enjoy throughout the evening.
Themes are fun ways to make your party stand out; try dressing like a celebrity who has been murdered or hosting a murder at an old English manor house!
TRY (OR MAKE) NEW HALLOWEEN THEMED FOOD AND DRINKS.
Halloween is a great time to try new recipes, whether it’s making your own food or trying one of the many Halloween themed foods that are available. If you’re feeling particularly ambitious, why not make some of your favorite Halloween treats? It can be fun to get into the spooky spirit by adding in some healthy ingredients such as carrots and apples instead of using chocolate chips. If you don’t want to go through all of that work, just buy some festive food at the store!
Another fun aspect is hosting a party with friends. This way everyone will eat healthily while having fun together!
PLAY HALLOWEEN THEMED GAMES.
Halloween is a time for kids and adults alike to let their imaginations run wild, and there are plenty of games that will help you do just that.
One of the best ways to get into the spirit of Halloween is by playing games. There are so many different types of games you can play for Halloween, from simple activities like bobbing for apples or tossing pumpkins to more complicated ones like pinning down a ghost or dancing with vampires. You can also be creative with what you wear while playing these types of games: try wearing masks or costumes; make sure everyone has their own prop (like a basket full of candy); set up obstacles around your house so people have obstacles between them as they play; use music as inspiration when playing some of these activities; etc!
The great thing about these types of activities is how easy they are—all it takes is some teamwork and creativity!
READ SCARY STORIES BY THE FIRE WHILE EATING CANDY APPLES.
Reading scary stories by the fire while eating candy apples is a classic Halloween activity that everyone should do. It’s fun for kids, adults, families, couples and groups of friends alike. You can even make it more interactive by inviting some random people to join in!
HALLOWEEN IS ONE OF THE BEST HOLIDAYS, IT HAS SO MANY FUN THINGS TO DO, DON’T JUST STAY AT HOME!
Halloween is a great holiday. It has so many fun things to do, don’t just stay at home! Get dressed up and go trick or treating, attend a costume party, join Costume Contests, go to haunted house or corn maze.
CONCLUSION
I hope this post has helped you to come up with some ideas for how to spend your Halloween. It’s a fun holiday that can be spent in many different ways, so don’t just stay at home! Go out there and enjoy yourself by doing one or more of these activities.
