Holiday Season Virtual Party Ideas

The Holidays, a fun, joyful, highly awaited time of the year. We look forward to it every year.  We are getting a lot busier when it comes to different things; home decorations, food and gifts shopping (which gets a bit more stressful the nearer it approaches), and most importantly, planning the most memorable party idea for you, your friends, and your family that everyone would love. We always want to celebrate the holidays the best as possible, leaving a great smile to everyone involved.

In some countries and cultures, Christmas is celebrated with tons of different traditions. But in a more global setting, we can agree that we love ourselves a Christmas eve dinner and a fun party where we catch up with everyone, let the children play, have everyone open their presents, and even accompany with home karaoke and dancing. Sometimes, we play mini-indoor games.

But given today’s situation, things could get a bit more restricted and a lot more different than how we usually celebrate the Holidays. In which given the last two years, it does make a quite drastic effect on how we usually celebrate.

We used to be together with our family and friends every Christmas. Maybe some families have a certain ongoing tradition that should be followed every year. But now, certain measures should be considered in order to have ourselves a safe and meaningful Holidays.

KEEP IT VIRTUAL, CONTROLLED, PLANNED, AND SAFE

We are no longer strangers to online events and gatherings. In fact, we do it more than any face-to-face meetup these days. If your guests won’t make it in person, virtual parties could be a fun idea, and you can even invite as much as you want, no matter how far. As long as there’s an internet connection, they can reach without even leaving their homes. Virtual may feel a bit less at times, but there are still ways to make it interesting. Make it interactive. Don’t run out of ice breakers. Catch up on everyone. We surely

There are tons of cons over a virtual party, including the lack of physical interactions, you will not be able to share foods, and the like. But you can fill the missing pieces by including more activities. There are apps and programs where you can watch movies and shows together, meaning that you can have a Christmas movie marathon and talk about it at the same time. There are some that allows you to play games together. You can even use your usual party games and just play it while in the group call. There are tons of party games that we grew up and liked can be played virtually. It’s just a matter on the creative ways that you’ll come up with.

Given that today’s restrictions are lighter, you can now go places as more places are starting to open, it’s finally possible to go outside and reunite with everyone, limited in-person parties are now a green flag. Let’s say, you and everyone you invited are safe to gather around, please make sure to limit and be more thoughtful on who to invite at your place. For example, you can just invite close family members and nearby close friends to come over and just have everyone else over video chat. Highly consider being up to date with everyone’s health screening and shots. If in some cases, it will be a work and class Christmas parties, make sure that you plan ahead and keep in touch to everyone involved, remind them of the necessary procedures, and to monitor themselves as well as staying safe before the event. As circumstances happen, you can have others over video conference. For example, if some would not be able to make it in person because of health and personal concerns. We can consider them and still not make them feel behind.

AS FOR THE GIFTS…

There are a lot of options. You can shop for gifts in store, and have it delivered to them, or you can buy online and ship them out to their place as well. Also, a great option could also be getting them online gift vouchers that you can send over through email or chats, much better if you’ll add a more personalized special message. It’s suitable especially if you’re the type of person who just prefer giving someone the gift of freedom to choose what they really want.

There’s quite an argument on gift cards or vouchers, on if they were a thoughtful gift or not. We personally think it is. I mean, if you’re the type of someone who doesn’t know a lot about the other person, this might be a better gift. For example, you may know that may be aware that they like anime, but not completely know which one they like, or what kind of merch would they enjoy, we think giving them a gift voucher is maybe a better option rather than giving someone a gift that you’re not sure if their going to like.

As always, remember to carefully plan out your itineraries and make sure you’ll celebrate in such safe ways. Staying indoors would be highly encouraged.
