I think it is time for us to talk about another popular and well-loved anime.
So, for today’s little blog post, we’ll talk about Attack on Titan, which is one of the most popular anime series. If you haven’t heard of this anime, you probably need a lot of time to catch up on what’s new. Because of its growing popularity among the anime community, it is a widespread everywhere.
At this point, we all know what Attack on Titan is, and sometimes a few ideas on what is it about. You probably know a person or two who is up to date with the series. It being one of the most popular anime at the moment all around the globe, even the non-watchers may already have encountered a thing or two about it. Attack on Titan, also known as AOT have been around for some time, and its popularity got it a spot of being a trending topic on the internet with every release, memes, reviews, photos, video clips, news and more. With a wide audience base with both avid fans and casual anime watchers. Safe to say that we all know it is everywhere and its popularity is just quite starting to grow bigger.
You probably heard the names Eren Yaeger, Levi Ackerman, Mikasa Ackerman, and the like. You probably have also seen memes, pictures, or clips, these anime naked giant monsters called “titans” all around the internet. How about a wall often mentioned in some anime memes? And about the iconic brown uniform jacket with a familiar logo in the back (We know at least a few people who have those). The hype about AoT is everywhere, believe it or not.
Aside from the anime itself, the show is known for iconic fictional items that we bring back to life such as the cosplay costumes of these characters, especially the Survey Corps Jacket of course. Aside from that, the love over Attack on Titan is never ending as different merch items inspired by the show is kept being made such as action figures, hoodies, bags, shirts, and even stickers. Merch items are such a must-have for every huge fan but still worth checking out if you have the likings for the show’s aesthetic and even casually interested with the show.

Shingeki no Kyojin, mostly known as Attack on Titan, is an anime series based on the manga created by Hajime Isayama, having an original manga run from September 2009 up to April 2021. Later on produced into an anime series by Wit Studio, from April 2013 up to present. According to Wikipedia, “Attack on Titan has received widespread acclaim and has notably sustained a broad, active and international fan base. Critics and audiences have praised the story, characters, animation, music, voice acting, and dark themes. The second part of the final season premiered on January 10, 2022.”
As for the plot, set in a dystopian reality where the remaining parts of humankind reside behind dividers shielding them from monster humanoid Titans, Attack on Titan follows hero Eren Jaeger, alongside companions Mikasa Ackerman and Armin Arlert. At the point when a Colossal Titan penetrates the mass of their old neighborhood, Titans obliterate the city and kill Eren’s mom. Vowing retribution, Eren joins the tip top Survey Corps, a gathering of warriors who battle against Titans. Assault on Titan accounts Eren’s excursion with the Survey Corps as they battle against the Titans while researching their starting point and history.
Due to the success of the series, a lot of Attack on Titan media was created as well. There was a 2-part live action Attack on Titan film was released in 2017. A good number of video games were produced by Nitroplus, Spike Chunsoft for Nintendo 3DS, and Omega Force for Playstation, as well as Mobbage who produced games for Android and iOS. A Live Action film was also released in 2015, A stage play titled Live Impact was supposed to run in 2017 but later on cancelled.
Attack on Titan has received near universal acclaim from audiences, with 8 episodes scoring a 9.9 or above on IMDb. Two episodes, season three’s “Hero” (2019) and season four’s “Assault” (2021), achieved perfect scores of 10/10 on the site. In total, 64 out of 84 episodes have received scores of 9 or above, an unprecedented number for any TV series on the site.
The four seasons of Attack on Titan were met with wide critical acclaim with praise for the storyline, animation, action sequences, soundtrack, dub performances, and its dark tone. Crunchyroll listed Attack on Titan in their “Top 25 best anime of the 2010s”. IGN and Polygon also listed Attack on Titan among the best anime series of the 2010s. It was even awarded by Guinness World Records as the “Most In-Demand TV Show”, and remarked on their web page as having a global demand rating 52.7 times greater than that of the average TV show.
