RE:ZERO IS A FANTASY LIGHT NOVEL SERIES WRITTEN BY TAPPEI NAGATSUKI AND ILLUSTRATED BY SHINICHIROU OTSUKA.
“It’s an anime that follows the life of a high school boy who is suddenly transported to another world, where he meets a girl who has also been transported. The two get involved in an adventure that involves dragons and so much more.”
The series has been licensed for an English release by Yen Press. It was adapted into multiple manga and light novel series. Re:Zero − Starting Life in Another World is a Japanese light novel series written by Tappei Nagatsuki and illustrated by Shinichirou Otsuka.
The anime television series adaptation was announced by Kadokawa in July 2015. The series is directed by Masaharu Watanabe and written by Masahiro Yokotani, with animation by the studio White Fox. Kyuta Sakai is serving as both character designer and as chief animation director. Music for the series is composed by Kenichiro Suehiro. Kentaro Minegishi is the series’ director of photography, and Yoshito Takamine serves as art director. Jin Aketagawa handled sound direction for the anime, and sound effects were produced by Yuji Furuya. Other staff members include Hitomi Sudo (editing), Yu Karube (3D director), Saaya Kinjō (art configuration), Izumi Sakamoto (color design), and Noritaka Suzuki and Gōichi Iwabatake (prop design).
The 25-episode series premiered on April 4, 2016, with an extended 50-minute first episode. It was broadcast on TV Tokyo, TV Osaka, TV Aichi, and AT-XThe series was simulcast by Crunchyroll. Episodes 14 and 18 ran 2 minutes longer than a typical anime episode, clocking at 25 minutes and 45 seconds. The final episode ran 3 minutes longer, clocking at 27 minutes and 15 seconds.
ANIME PLOT
Re:Zero – Starting Life in Another World is a fantasy anime based on the light novel series of the same name, created by Tappei Nagatsuki. The story follows Subaru Natsuki as he gets transported from his world to another world after dying in an accident, and then tries to earn back his life by helping out a girl named Emilia.
The main characters are Subaru Natsuki and Emilia, but there are also some secondary main characters like Rem, Rom and Ram (who are triplets), Puck and Beatrice (who has lived for thousands of years). The anime was created by White Fox studio which is known for other popular anime shows such as Shingeki no Kyojin or Sakamoto desu ga? It’s rated PG-13 due to some violent scenes (but nothing too inappropriate).
According to Wikipedia, Subaru Natsuki is a NEET who is suddenly summoned to a fantasy-like world. Just after arriving, he is killed while trying to help a young half-elf he befriends, Emilia, who is a candidate to become the next ruler of the Kingdom of Lugunica, only to revive some hours in the past. After dying some times, Subaru realizes that he has the power to turn back time after his death. After successfully helping Emilia, Subaru starts living in one of the Mansions of the Roswaal Mathers as a butler. Out of gratitude and affection for Emilia, Subaru makes use of his newfound ability to protect her and help on her ambition to be successfully appointed as the next queen, also providing assistance to other friends he makes along the way, while suffering due to the pain inflicted on him every time he dies, and carrying along the memories of everything that happened before his power activates, which is forgotten by everybody except for him.
RECEPTION
Re:Zero was released in 2016, and has since become a popular series. It has been nominated for many awards, winning multiple times. The series is well received by critics as well, who praise it for its characters, story and animation. Fans have created memes and fan art based on Re:Zero as well!

Re:Zero is a Japanese light novel series written by Tappei Nagatsuki and illustrated by Shinichirou Otsuka. The story centers on Subaru Natsuki, an ordinary high school student who finds himself transported to another world after dying in an accident, where he encounters various challenges and threats. The series began publication on the Shōsetsuka ni Narō website from December 2012 and then Kadokawa Shoten’s Kadokawa Sneaker Bunko imprint from August 5th 2013. To date, 18 volumes have been released with one spinoff volume released as well as a manga adaptation.
A 15-second teaser trailer for the anime was revealed at AnimeJapan 2017 on March 25th, 2017 featuring the opening theme “Redo” by Masaharu Iwata of Supercell (who also composed most of the music for Sword Art Online). The series premiered on April 3rd 2017 on AT-X before airing later that month on Tokyo MX TV and BS11 beginning April 6th 2017. A second season titled Re:Zero Kara Hajimeru Isekai Seikatsu – Dai Ni Shou (Re: Life in a Different World From Zero – Chapter 2) was announced alongside news that it would be split into two cours (quarters).
RE:ZERO HAS BEEN WELL RECEIVED THROUGH ITS POPULARITY ON SOCIAL MEDIA.
The story is gripping, the characters are relatable, and the music is epic. The art style is beautiful! There are great memes too! Oh, and did I mention that there are fight scenes? They’re intense and amazing – you won’t want to miss them! And don’t forget about all of the comedy that makes you laugh out loud!! There’s lots of drama in this show too; it’s touching (and a little cheesy). If there’s one thing Re:Zero has going for it– literally anything at all– it’s romance. You’ll find yourself swooning over these characters with your heart bursting at the seams by episode 10 at the latest.
