Hey there Anime fans and Otaku enthusiasts. Hope you’re all having a blast. Preparing for the Holiday season could get a bit hectic, but I hope that it goes really well. As we all could agree, we all love anime. Weather being an otaku (die-hard anime fan) or just a casual enjoyer who watched a good few shows and liked the experience, it has certain impact to all of us. Some of us are familiar to a few popular ones and some follows the anime realm very closely and are up to date with latest releases and such. The point is, anime has been a huge part of our culture globally, and it is nice to see.
Especially with the birth of the internet, anime has never been more reachable than ever. From catching up for updates to your favorite’s social media pages, streaming sites to watch anime or read manga, anime stores to browse for cheap anime collectibles and merch items, platforms such as open forums, social media, vlogs/blogs, and more to express your opinions, ideas, and theories, and talk about anime with a community of your fellow anime fans.
Previously at our last week’s blog post about classic anime shows that are a great part of our lives, we promised to give you a part 2 discussing the more modern anime shows that we watch and love this time. Hence, the time has come for us about to talk about the new ones, the latest, trending ones, the ones we enjoy nowadays.
Here are our awesome recommendations that you really love, and if you crave with your favorite anime collectibles, your friendly anime store ModCons surely got those for you.

HERE ARE OUR PICKS
DEMON SLAYER
Demon slayer have been widely popular quite a while and had been a talk of the town because of how good it is. It follows the story of siblings Nezuko and Tanjiro as they go to find a cure to Nezuko being infected by a demon. They’ve met a lot of friends and even have joined the Demon Slayer Corps along the way, as they find a way to defeat demons, especially the ones that Killed Nezuko and Tanjiro’s family.
MY HERO ACADEMIA
You probably have seen or even just heard about this series because of how popular this was. Known for Characters Izuku Midoriya, Himiko Toga, and Shoto Todoroki, My Hero Academia sets place in a world where ‘quirks’ or special powers/abilities are common. A ‘quirkless’ Izuku would not let his lack of power to stop his dreams of becoming a great pro hero and defeat super villains, hence his adventure began.
KAKEGURUI
Widely known as that one anime with the fierce characters in stunning red schoolgirl uniform, Kakegurui – Compulsive Gambler is also a widely known series that is actually nice. It centers around Hyakkaou Private Academy, a rich people school that bases your hierarchy on money, donations, and most importantly gambling. Basically, if you are good at gambling, you are popular and powerful. Yumeko Jabami transfers to as an unsuspecting student and digs in the world of gambling in which she was surprisingly good at.
JUJUTSU KAISEN
It is a really good supernatural series, Jujutsu Kaisen is set in a world where Cursed Spirits feed on unsuspecting humans and fragments of the legendary and feared demon Ryomen Sukuna have been lost and scattered about. It is so powerful that whatever consume Sukuna’s body will be enough to destroy the world. Luckily, there exists a mysterious school of Jujutsu Sorcerers who exist to protect the precarious existence of the living from the supernatural! With known characters such as Yuji itadori and Goju Satoru.
TOKYO REVENGERS
Tokyo Revengers is something to catch up on if you are looking for a good anime to watch. It’s a sci-fi anime and as the name suggests, it has something to do with revenge. Takemichi at his lowest, found out about his ex-girlfriend Hinata was killed by the Tokyo Manji Gang, a known group of criminals. So he seeks revenge by travelling back in time where he could save his then-girlfriend Hinata by joining the gang and climb up to authority and change the future.
ATTACK ON TITAN
You probably have heard or even seen this anywhere. This is one of the most well-known anime series and you should check out if you haven’t. Known for characters such as Mikasa Ackerman, Levi Ackerman and Eren Yaeger, Attack on Titan is set in a world where humanity is getting extinct as giant humanoids known as Titans attack and eat them. They are protected inside a civilization protected my massive walls. There are also these warriors that fight to protect humans and the civilization from titans.
DARLING IN THE FRANXX
Another interesting sci-fi anime recommendation is Darling in the Franxx. It’s most well-known character Zero Two (Code:002), is an elite Franxx pilot with klaxosaur blood, red horns, and an infamous reputation as the “Partner Killer”. Set in a post a post-apocalyptic world where humanity is under constant threat from giant creatures known as klaxosaurs. Hiro (Code:016), is a former pilot-candidate prodigy that found Zero Two. Hiro volunteers to become her new partner, or as Zero Two calls him, her “darling”.
JOJO’S BIZZARRE ADVENTURE
Heard and probably seen everywhere on the internet, The universe of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure is a reflection of the real world with the added existence of supernatural forces and beings. The narrative of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure is split into parts with independent stories and different characters. Each of the series’ protagonists is a member of the Joestar family, whose mainline descendants possess a star-shaped birthmark above their left shoulder blade and a name that can be abbreviated to the titular “JoJo”.
TOKYO GHOUL
Ken Kaneki is a university student and he is in love with Rize Kamishiro. But she was a ghoul and Kaneki didn’t know about it. One day, he was attacked by her when they had a date. She attacked him many times to prey on him. But suddenly a steel frame was falling on Rize’s overhead and she died. Kaneki could survive but he had a serious condition. Therefore he had an operation. In the operation, he had an organ donation from Rize without permission. Kaneki became a half-ghoul. Since then, Kaneki has lived an anguished life.
RE:ZERO
A High school student Natsuki Subaru has been summoned to another world on the way back from the convenience store. Things become worse when he is attacked. However, when he is saved by a mysterious silver-haired girl, Subaru cooperates and when they finally manage to get clues, Subaru and the girl are mysteriously attacked and killed. Subaru then awakens hours before his and the silver haired girl’s death. After dying a couple more times with the same result he dubs his ability “Return by Death”.
